Charging stations with OCPP support
Supported Devices
Warning
OCPP is only supported on chargers that do not need to be connected to a mobility service provider backend. This by definition excludes all public charging stations.
| Device Type | Modbus TCP (Ethernet) | RS485 |
|---|---|---|
| Most charging stations with support for OCPP v1.6 and the smart charging OCPP profile. Consult the manufacturer. | ✅ | ❌ |
Warning
The OCPP enabled charger must allow setting a local IP address as the OCPP backend. Consult the charger manufacturer in case of doubt.
Configuration
OCPP is enabled by default on the a-TroniX Controller on TCP port 9000.
Warning
The controller must be configured to have a fixed IP address in your network to enable OCPP. This is because the a-TroniX Controller acts as an OCPP server, and the IP adress must be configured in your charger. See Network on how to set up a fixed IP address.
In the charger's settings, go the OCPP settings and follow these steps:
- Enable OCPP on the charger.
- Set the address to: ws://[a-TroniX Controller IP address]:9000.
- Check that the OCPP version is set to version 1.6J if the option is present.
It is recommended to wait a minute or two for the charger to connect to the a-TroniX Controller before adding it as a device in the commissioning interface.
